Kenyan forces, receiving reinforcements from various locations, repelled the attacking Al-Shabaab militants, who had initially crossed the border from Somalia’s Gedo region.
Reports indicate that seven people were killed in the fighting, with four of them reportedly belonging to Al-Shabaab.
Al-Shabaab has carried out attacks inside Kenya for the past several decades since Kenyan troops have crossed the border in to Somalia to create a buffer zone due to increased terrorist attacks in Kenya.
